XAMPP

Thursday, February 12, 2009

XAMPP is an integrated server package of Apache, mySQL, PHP and Perl (they stand for AMPP in XAMPP). XAMPP can also run from a removable drive. It is a free and open source cross-platform web server package. It also consists of interpreters for scripts written in the PHP and Perl programming languages.

The program is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License. XAMPP is available for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Solaris, and Mac OS X, and is mainly used for web development projects. XAMPP is being developed by Apache Friends. Their latest release was in December 23, 2008, the version 1.7.0.

This application is really good. It is very user-friendly. It has already helped me a lot with my projects in school. If you are planning to use this program then you know you're going to make the right decision.
